My Story

Hello (こんにちは) everyone!

My name is Takuma, and I am thrilled to be your Japanese language teacher. With over 10 years of experience as a certified Japanese language instructor, teaching is not just a profession for me; it's my passion. I take great joy in helping students learn the Japanese language and understand its rich culture.

Education:

I earned my Bachelor's degree in the Department of British and American Studies at Nagoya University of Foreign Studies. My journey with language learning began with English, sparking a fascination with pronunciation and a desire to incorporate it into my work. Pursuing further studies, I ventured to New Zealand and later Canada to refine my English skills. Languages have always been my passion, and currently, I'm also endeavoring to learn Polish while residing in Poland.

My Teaching Style:

Drawing from my diverse learning and teaching experiences, I understand that student motivation and learning objectives vary. Thus, I tailor my teaching methods accordingly. My approach aligns with the JF Standard for Japanese-Language Education, focusing on practical tasks rather than mere grammar or vocabulary memorization. I aim to keep lessons simple, constructive, and efficient, providing what each student needs at their particular stage of learning, respecting their individual styles and levels.

Experience:

In addition to sharing amusing words with my international friends, I spent a year offering private tutoring in Canada before transitioning to teaching in Poland, serving students in Katowice, Krakow, and online since 2016. Interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds and motivations has been a rewarding experience. I find it fascinating to learn why people are drawn to Japanese culture and language, and I take pride in making a positive impact on my students' lives. I look forward to the opportunity to do the same for you.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling and cooking, which are my passions after teaching. I look forward to getting to know you and helping you on your journey!
